This website features a selection of recent abstract paintings created in oil mixed with cold wax, and also some mixed media paintings on paper. My home and studio are in Osseo, Wisconsin, a rural area where I have a connection with the landscape that feeds my nature-based imagery.
My work is handled by fine art galleries in the US in Santa Fe, NM: Minneapolis, MN: Scottsdale, AZ; Telluride, CO; and in Madison and Door County, Wisconsin.
I now offer workshops around the country and in my own studio about the techniques I've developed over the past six years for using cold wax medium with oils. Please see the workshop page of this website for details.
Many of my paintings are made up of individually painted wood panels, permanently mounted together into one composition to evoke a feeling, an idea, a place, or an aspect of nature. The divisions between the panels provide structure to what is otherwise organic, flowing imagery. Other paintings are complete on a single panel.

I am very pleased to announce new gallery representation. My work is now handled by Telluride Gallery of Fine Art in Telluride, CO, in additon to my other galleries in Santa Fe, Minneapolis, Scottsdale, and Wisconsin. Please check out the new Workshops page on this website, and take note of the calendar of upcoming classes--the next one is March 6-7, in Verona, WI. And on April 16-18, I'll be teaching in Longmont, CO. One-day workshops in my studio to introduce the techniques I use for cold wax painting are scheduled periodically. My current exhibit at Circa Gallery in Minneapolis with Maren Kloppmann will run from Feb. 6th to March 13, with an opening reception February 6 from 6-9 pm. I am also showing a number of small paintings through March 13 at the First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee, WI.
