These paintings are composed on individual panels and are yet another way that I explore abstract ideas. These images are deeply rooted in observations of nature but evolve in surprising directions through the process of painting. I am always experimenting with ways to create nuances of textures and color. The smaller panels are especially suited to these explorations–I have fun with them, trying out new tools, approaches and techniques. While they may be hung as a group, each is also an individual, capable of holding its own as a composition.
