Intimate Earth
The colors, textures, shapes, and lines I observe in nature form the basis of my visual language but my focus is on my personal response to the landscape rather than depicting its outward appearance. Being attuned to the small details of plant life and rocks, the texture of the ground, sensing the vastness of the open lands of Northern New Mexico—all of these are at play in these paintings, along with the emotions and thoughts they evoke
